AUZEF's Recreation Program is a four-year open education bachelor's program.

Program's Objective: To train “recreation specialists” who have knowledge and skills in recreation areas, possess strong communication skills, are researchers, follow contemporary and technological developments, and who can improve or maintain physical, cognitive, social, and emotional functioning.

 

DETAILED INFORMATION

The objective of the Recreation Bachelor's Program is to train experts capable of planning and organizing free-time activities, implementing recreation programs, and meeting the needs of the community, the field, and individuals in terms of general culture, domain knowledge, management, and teaching. Since recreation management encompasses a broad area, individuals who successfully complete this program are aimed to have the managerial knowledge and skills to work in recreation facilities, health enterprises, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, sports facilities, amusement parks, kindergartens and care homes, health tourism businesses, health centers, spa areas, and accommodation businesses.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Registration with YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam) You can choose the program after entering YKS. If placed in our faculty by ÖSYM, you will have the right to register.
  • Registration with YÖS You must have entered YÖS and met the required conditions to register for the program. For detailed information: http://yos.istanbul.edu.tr. If placed in our faculty by Istanbul University, you will have the right to register.
  • Registration with Lateral Transfer Exam Students who wish to transfer to our faculty must meet the required conditions and apply. For lateral transfer announcements and applications, follow the address http://ogrenci.istanbul.edu.tr.
  • Registration Under the Second University Without Examination You must meet the required conditions and apply to the faculty. COURSES AND COURSE MATERIALS

The most significant feature of the program is that all course materials are prepared using the e-learning method. The Teaching System Platform is arranged to meet all needs, and Phase 2 contents, including lecture notes, presentations, videos, and advanced teaching materials, are uploaded to the system for students to study comfortably. EXAMS AND EVALUATION

Exam Implementation Method
Exams are conducted face-to-face under supervision for each course at least once every semester/year, including a mid-term, a semester/year-end final, and a make-up exam. The rules applied in exams are determined by the Faculty Administrative Board and announced to students.
About Exam Practices
Exams conducted by our faculty are generally in the form of multiple-choice tests. 20 questions are asked for each course, and 30 minutes are given to solve them. In some Distance Education programs, in addition to multiple-choice exams, Classical and Oral exams can be applied. GRADUATION

  • Obtaining the required credits/ECTS as per the Faculty Administrative Board decision and successfully completing them,
  • Not having any courses with an FF grade,
  • Having a general grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 or above,
  • Completing all compulsory courses for all semesters.
    • Warning: The number of ECTS can be increased by the decision of the Faculty Administrative Board.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Recreation department graduates can be employed in:

  • Tourism establishments,
  • Water and land sports recreation activities,
  • Socio-cultural recreation activities,
  • Private organizations,
  • Local governments (Municipalities),
  • Youth camps within the General Directorate of Youth and Sports.

Additionally, students graduating from the program can pursue academic careers by undertaking master's and doctoral studies in their fields.
