AUZEF's Philosophy Program is a four-year distance education undergraduate program.

Program Objectives; 

Graduates will be able to ground conceptual problems in their fields, share their knowledge about the field, work independently and in teams on issues within their areas of interest, critically evaluate different perspectives, sustain discussions with colleagues regarding the results they achieve in their work, investigate, discuss, develop and publish original thoughts about their field.

 

DETAILED INFORMATION

With the Philosophy Undergraduate Program, students will be able to;

  • Conduct work using fundamental philosophical sources,
  • Research and answer questions related to the field,
  • Think critically and generate solutions to philosophical problems,
  • Understand ontology, epistemology, ethics, aesthetics, etc. within the context of the relationships among the fields of philosophy, and specialize in different areas such as political philosophy, value philosophy, philosophy of science, philosophy of logic, philosophy of mind, etc., and grasp their relationships with each other.

 

 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Registration with YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam)
    • After taking the YKS exam, you can make a program preference for registration. If you are placed by OSYM, you will have the right to register.
  • Registration with YÖS

    If you are placed at Istanbul University, you will have the right to register.
  • Registration with Horizontal Transfer Exam

  • Registration without Exam as Part of Second University Status
    • To register for the program, you must meet the necessary requirements and apply to the faculty. COURSES AND COURSE MATERIALS

The Philosophy Undergraduate Program consists of compulsory courses such as Ancient Philosophy, Classical Logic, Modern Logic, Hermeneutics, Ontology, Introduction to Psychology, and History of Sociology. The most significant feature of the program is that all course materials are prepared with the e-learning method.
The Education System Platform is organized to meet all needs, and for students to study comfortably, course notes, presentations, videos, and advanced educational materials prepared as Phase 2 content are uploaded to the system, and there are no printed materials. EXAMS AND ASSESSMENT

Exam Implementation Method
Exams are conducted face-to-face with supervision at least once per year/semester for each course, including at least one mid-term, one end-of-semester/year final, and a make-up exam. The rules for exams are determined with the approval of the Faculty Administrative Board and are announced to students.

Information About Exam Implementation
Exams conducted by our faculty are generally in the form of multiple-choice tests. 20 questions are asked for each course, and 30 minutes are given to solve the questions.

GRADUATION

  •  To graduate, you must take the required credits/AKTS and complete them successfully based on the decision of the Faculty Administrative Board,
  •  You should not have a grade of FF in any course,
  •  You must have a general grade point average of 2.00 or higher (AGNO),
  •  You must take all compulsory courses for all semesters,
  • If you are enrolled prior to the 2017-2018 academic year, you must complete elective courses according to the group rules.

    • Warning: The number of AKTS credits may be increased by the Faculty Administrative Board.

 

 

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of the Philosophy Undergraduate Program can work as researchers, specialists, and academics in various fields of social sciences, teach in public institutions and private educational institutions if they have obtained pedagogical formation, engage in writing and academic studies in line with their areas of interest, and obtain an academic career by completing a master's and doctorate program related to their field.
