GRAPHIC DESIGN

 

 

Purpose of the Program; 

The Graphic Design Program affiliated with AUZEF is a two-year open education associate degree program.

It aims to continuously provide free, dynamic, and creative graphic design education through distance learning and to guide our students to think creatively and produce effective designs. The goal is to nurture candidates for graphic designers who have grasped graphic language as a form of expression; have the infrastructure to perceive, question, define, and generate solutions to design problems universally; and are conscious and creative.

 

DETAILED INFORMATION

With the Graphic Design Program, students will:

  • Gain employable skills that can be used in professional life, facilitating their adaptation to working life.
  • Combine historical, cultural, and social ties with everyday design elements to create usable and acceptable products.
  • Match students' existing design abilities with professional life, enabling their professionalization.
  • Develop social, moral, and ethical values, being aware of their responsibilities.
  • Prepare students for further education related to graphic design, advertising, and communication designs.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of graduates in the market by aligning graphic design with Press and Publication Technologies, Communication, Advertising, and Marketing.

 

APPLICATION CONDITIONS

  • YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam) for Registration
  • You can apply for the program after participating in YKS. If placed by ÖSYM to our faculty, you will have the right to register.
  • Registration without Exam within the Second University Scope

CLASSES AND TEACHING MATERIALS

The Graphic Design Associate Degree Program consists of mandatory courses. The most significant feature of the program is that all teaching materials are prepared with the e-learning method. The program curriculum has been prepared by the experienced academic staff of Istanbul University in line with national education policy goals. The Teaching System Platform is organized to meet all needs, and Faz 2 contents as advanced teaching materials, including lecture notes, presentations, and videos, have been uploaded to the system to facilitate comfortable studying for students. EXAMS AND ASSESSMENT

Exam Implementation Method
Exams are conducted face-to-face under supervision for each course at least once a semester/year, including a midterm, end-of-semester/year final, and makeup exams. The rules applied during the exams are determined by the approval of the Faculty Management Board and announced to the students.
About Exam Applications
Exams conducted by our faculty are generally in the form of multiple-choice tests. Each course has 20 questions, and 30 minutes are provided for solving them. In some Distance Education programs, Classic and Oral exams can be applied in addition to multiple-choice exams. GRADUATION

  • To graduate, the Faculty Management Board's decision regarding the necessary credit/ECTS amount must be achieved and successfully completed.
  • Not having a course grade of FF.
  • Having a general grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 or above.
  • Taking and completing all mandatory courses of all semesters.
  • Warning: The ECTS amounts may be increased by the decision of the Faculty Management Board.

 

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of the Graphic Design Associate Degree Program can work:

  • In advertising agencies, publishing organizations, television channels, and all areas where visual design is used.
  • In printing and publishing companies, web design firms.
  • As freelancers (without being attached to any organization).
