Geography Program, affiliated with AUZEF, is a four-year open education undergraduate program.



Purpose of the Program;  

To open the university door to individuals who are constantly evolving, open to innovation, proactive, and who want to receive Geography education without any time or place limitation, in order to address the existential, cultural and moral problems of the age from a different perspective and to produce solutions to these problems from a geographical perspective, and to provide this education at the highest level. to be fulfilled by using high-level technology. Beyond providing a diploma at the undergraduate level, the program offers geography education opportunities to students who want to improve their cultural and intellectual levels and consciousness, who want to know and know the world in every aspect, and who want to become world citizens with a sustainable environmental perception, to achieve these goals.provides.

 

DETAILED INFORMATION

With the Geography Undergraduate Program, students;
  • Conducting studies using the basic geographical resources they have,
  • Researching and answering questions about the field, Being able to think critically,
  • Gaining the ability to produce solutions to geographical problems,
  • Having applied geography skills, Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing technologies
  • It is aimed to provide students with the skills to be a pioneer in geographical issues such as disaster management, water, landforms, ecology, urbanization, development and tourism.

 

 

ENTRY CONDITIONS

  • Registration with YKS (Higher Education Institutions Examination)
    • To enroll in the program, you can make your choice for the program after logging in to YKS. If you are placed in our faculty by ÖSYM, you will have the right to register.
  • Registration with YÖS
    • To enroll in the program, you must have taken YÖS and met the required conditions. For detailed information: http://yos.istanbul.edu.tr. If you are placed in our faculty by Istanbul University, you will have the right to register.
  • Registration via Horizontal Transfer Exam
    • Students who want to enroll in our faculty through horizontal transfer must meet the required conditions and apply. You can follow http://ogrenci.istanbul.edu.tr for horizontal transfer announcements and applications.
  • Registration without Examination within the Scope of the Second University

COURSES AND COURSE MATERIALS

Geography Undergraduate Programme; It consists of compulsive courses on areas such as Earth Systems, Human Geography, Map Information, Geomorphology, Climatology and Geographic Information Systems. The most important feature of the program is that all course materials are prepared using the e-learning method.
The Teaching System Platform has been designed to meet all needs, and Phase 2 contents prepared as lecture notes, presentations, videos and advanced teaching materials have been uploaded to the system so that the student can study comfortably, but there are no printed materials. EXAMS AND ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION

Exam Application Method
Exams are administered face to face, supervised, with at least one midterm exam, one semester/end of year final exam and make-up exam for each course per year/semester. The rules to be applied in the exams are determined with the approval of the Faculty Administrative Board and announced to the students.

About Exam Applications
The exams conducted by our faculty are generally conducted in the form of multiple choice tests. 20 questions are asked for each lesson and 30 minutes are given to solve the questions.

GRADUATION

  •  Taking the required amount of credits/ECTS as per the decision of the Faculty Board of Directors and successfully completing it,
  •  Not having a course with a letter grade of "FF", having a GPA of 2.00 or above,
  •  Taking all compulsory courses for all semesters,
  •  Taking elective courses according to the group rules. to have completed. (Valid for those who entered before the 2017-2018 academic year.)

    • WARNING:ECTS numbers may be increased by the decision of the Faculty Executive Board. Students who graduate from the program receive a bachelor's degree and earn the title of "Geography Undergraduate Graduate". Geography undergraduate program graduates can continue their education by pursuing a master's degree and doctorate degree.

 

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Geography Undergraduate Program graduates;

  • Provided that they receive pedagogical formation,
  • They can take part in Ministry of Education, Municipalities,
  • Non-governmental organizations,
  • Geographic information systems,
  • City information systems studies,
  • Disaster management and planning activities.
